Hi everyone! The time for the upcoming board exams has come very close. Most board examinations will start from February to May due to the election. Students now have very little time for preparation. I agree that marks are important for students & all students want to score well in the exams. Parents, that’s, you also play an important role during the exams. You can also help your children to score well in the exam. Let’s know about the Tips for parents to help their children in scoring good marks in board exams.

“Behind every successful child who believes in himself is a parent who believed first.”- Matthew Jacobson

scoring good marks in board exams

1- Choose the right ways to motivate:

Motivation is essential to do well in any examination. Students will not be able to perform well in the exam until they are motivated. You should talk well and use generous words to encourage your children. You should increase their confidence, and they will be ready to score well in the exam. This inspires them, and they think to do great. Always use miraculous words like ‘This is not the end of the world, just do your best’, ‘Everything happens once in a lifetime’, ‘CBSC board is just a game, and you are so smart that you can play it well’, ‘Don’t worry about the results, just perform the best’ these idioms give strength to children and reduce their mental stress.

2- Reduce unnecessary stress:

Students have a lot of anxiety about board exams, and during the exams, they do not ready to perform perfectly due to this anxiety. You should overwhelm this fear of your children. To overwhelm this fear, you should ask them to solve maximum mock tests, sample papers, and previous year’s question papers. This will let them know the type of examination, and the panic of the examination will go through their minds.

If your child studies daily for two hours, then he/she increases the study time by 3 to 4 hours during the exam. It takes time for a person’s body and brain to adopt this change. When a child studies for two hours every day, then the neurons of his/her brain function in the same way. Any sudden change does not produce good results. Being a parent, you should realize that studying continuously for 9 to 10 hours before the exam is not always effective.

3- A little temptation may help:

Although this is not a good habit, but children also need encouragement. Make some promises like if you get 90 percent marks in Mathematics and Science, then we will give you a new bicycle as a gift. If you get more than 70 percent marks, then we will take you to the hill station, etc. Such promises encourage them to work harder. The advantage of this trick is that you do not have to ask them to read it continuously. Being a parent, you should also try all these tricks.

4- Spend fruitful time with them:

This is a mechanical era, and everyone is busy on their own. Being Parents, You should spend quality time with your children. To refresh up their mood, you should interact with them. Along with this, you also must try to know what your child is thinking.

You should sit with your child while studying. This will distract their attention from their studies. They will not feel that they are studying alone. Also, you should ask questions related to the syllabus to refresh up their mood. At the same time, you shouldn’t stop them from doing anything during break time. In my opinion, they should be allowed to take the brakes. With this, they will be able to focus on their studies, and they will not have any other problems.

During the examination, you should ensure that the child arrives at the examination center on time. Children must concentrate only on their examination at that time. Leaving the child to the examination center is a memorable moment for you and your child. You can encourage your child with any inspirational idiom while going to the examination center and can discuss the exam while returning home.

5- Take care of their health:

While studying, children do not get time to eat food, and they spend more and more time studying. Due to this, their eating and drinking routine gets disturbed, so you should take care of their food and drink. At this time, it can be very harmful to children to get sick. Along with this, you should also ask students to get complete sleep. If they sleep properly, then only they will be able to concentrate on their studies.

6- Avoid distracting activities for a few days:

You must also avoid watching TV, listening song in a loud voice, or doing something that distracts the attention of children from studies. You should not invite guests and relatives at home during the examination; this can also distract the attention of children from their studies. You should create an environment whereby the child frees from all the distracting obstacles and focuses only on studies.

Parental support plays a very important role in the entire performance of the child. Parents must follow all this information for the best results.
