Subject: Complaint about faulty television cabinet purchased at cabinet world

Dear Sir,

I am unhappy with the quality of the television cabinet I bought from your shop on 15 December and I am writing to seek a replacement.

The cabinet doors do not open and shut properly, and the stain on the cabinet is uneven, with one half darker than the other. The cabinet was delivered on 30 December and I noticed this problem as soon as I unpacked it from the box.

The cabinet is not of acceptable quality and does not match the sample cabinet I was shown in the store. I would like you to replace it with one of the same quality and finish as the sample, and arrange for return of the faulty cabinet at no additional cost.

I have attached a photocopy of my receipt as a proof of purchase.

I would like to have this problem fixed as soon as possible. If I do not hear from you within 10 days, I will be forced to lodge a formal complaint with Consumer Affairs in my state. You can contact me on 1234 5678 during working hours or after hours on 123 456 789 to discuss this matter further.

Yours sincerely,

Damandeep

Sub: Expressing concern over students’ craze for using Internet as a homework tool

Dear Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to highlight the problem of growing dependence of the present generation on internet as a homework tool.

In many ways, internet is a boon .r the students. It is one of the quickest ways to got information on any topic. Students have access to a variety of sources to gather on any topic. This enriches their knowledge and may expose them to additional valid information. Time required to get answers to queries is very less Therefore, children have more time on hand to indulge in recreational activities.

However, a seems that internet has more disadvantages than advantages. There are chances that some websites may contain inaccurate and inappropriate information too. Besides this, the reading habits of students and thinking skills are deteriorating as they just copy information. They display a lack of interest in listening to the teacher in school. The concept of hard work seems to be disappearing amongst the youth of the present generation, which IS a dangerous sign.

An excess of anything is bad. A balanced, sensible and guided use of internet is required, so that our present generation enjoys the fruit of technology. I hope you will publish my views in public interest.

Yours truly

Ashish

Sub: Care for the elderly

Dear Sir,

This is with reference to the honourable Supreme Court’s ruling, that it is the resppnsibility of every citizen to look after his/her aged parents.

Congratulations! The ruling, that the defaulters will have no right to the inheritance is a verthct that will help the aged parents in the last phase of their lives.

The aged parents don’t have any attraction for material comforts from their offsprings. They only want love and kindness. They have cared for them by sacrificing their comforts and have catered to all their demands. Their own needs were never even considered.

Now, it becomes the duty of children to look after their parents. when they are at a vulnerable phase in their life.

The verdict may be an incentive for ensuring love and care as it empowers the aged parents to exclude their offsprings from the, right of inheritance. This may not enable the parents to win the love of the, children, but the honourable Supreme Court deserves to be commended for t. gesture towards the elderly.

Sub: Deteriorating law and order situation in the city.

Dear Sir,

Through this letter, I wish to bring to the kind attention of the concerned authorities, about the deteriorating law and order situation in the city.

Incidents of theft, kidnapping, molestation, rape and murder are on the rise these days. A person walking on the street (irrespective of the age or gender) as well as a person at home are unsafe.

Everyone is susceptible to fall prey to the evil intentions of the antisocial elements in the society. There is no peace and disquiet has become a norm. Terrorists are seen wandering fearlessly in broad daylight.

None of these criminals have been arrested so far. If arrested, many of them go scot-free, those not arrested, are seen roaming freely on roads. It is time that laws are applied more effectively to curb the menace. I request the concerned authorities to look into this matter and take necessary action to enable the residents to live in peace.

Thanking you

Yours sincerely

Rizwan Ali

Dear Sir,

This is with reference to The Times of India advertisement regarding Ooty tour, and I personally skimmed your website to see the wide range of details but wanted to enquire more details about the Ooty tour.

Firstly, I am interested in knowing about the accommodation, meals and would prefer 3/4 star hotel, and about the cost per head and the preferable mode of payment, to accumulate money.

As there are many old aged people, I prefer a comfortable mode of inbound transport and need more details about it.

Lastly, as there are a total of 10 people with me, I am looking for a good deal of discount.

I request you to provide the above information at the earliest, so that I can proceed with my decision.
